A Little Rump Roast
Rules of Acquisition
Location: Sickbay, USS Nicholson
There was a flurry of activity as boots slapped against the deck plating. The deck crew moved en masse, carrying a pilot among them.
The pilot, obviously wounded, was looking more like his pride was wounded than any part of his body.
"Careful, careful... Easy Jenkins! DAMNIT!!! I said EASY!!!" Barked the pilot as they removed the helmet and whipped it at a fellow pilot, apologizing profusely and trailing a little behind.
The helmet bounced harmlessly off the wall.
The 'he' turned out to be a 'she'. That 'she' was Meep.
"I'm not a friggin' warp core re.. AHHH!!! That HURTS!" She thundered, and twisted round, hand balled in a fist, ready to mash Jenkins' nose up into his skull.
Lucky for the crewman, what he lacked in grace he made up for in speed. He easily dodged out of Ashley's reach before she was able to connect.
Her twisting just aggravated her injury and sent a new wave of pain through her lower body.
"HOT ROD, GET OVER HERE.... I'M GONNA ...OWWW!!!"Ash turned around again, looking for the pilot who had injured her on the flight deck.
Once more, in twisting, she pulled her injury. Luckily the three crewmen had just arrived with her (and Hot Rod in tow) in SickBay.
They didn't wait for anyone to show them where to place Ryder, they simply lowered her face-first on a bio-bed and stood back.
The full extent of Ashley's injuries could now be seen. Luckily the majority of the phaser blast had been absorbed by the craft in front of her, or Ash wouldn't be alive.
Ash's lower back and buttocks were blackened and burned. The worst of the damage was contained to a small area, mostly over her bum.
It didn't take long for the head nurse to arrive, a friendly-looking young man with a broad face and curly hair. He took in the situation in a glance and waved the other pilots aside, snatching up the medkit. "Tush tush, looks like somebody had an accident," he murmured, selecting an anesthetic. "Let's deal with the fundamentals first and then we can address the seat of the problem." Deftly, he injected the anesthetic as closely as he could to the injury site. Then he called towards the back of the office. "Dr. Keyster! Fanny! I could use an assist here!" He turned back to his patient. "I have a haunch that it'll be a fairly fixable breach, but, and this is a very big but, it's going to take some time, so don't give me any cheek."
"I assume that you giving the patient a hard time is what passes in your culture for humor?" Dr. Serabe Kora asked as she whisked out of her office and onto the scene. The woman pointed towards the archway to medical with all the meddle an iron of a 3 star general. "Out of my sickbay. I'll change the schedule to reflect your sudden change in status."
Without waiting for the former head nurse to respond, the doctor began seeing to Ryder. "Now.. if you would excuse his lack of professionalism, I shall continue. Anesthesia was was applied, but no bio readings- let's get that done and also add a nerve block before I start removing foreign matter and clean your burns. Tell me how you came about this injury?"
